More than 50 writers responded to PTC New Writing's call out for 20-minute pieces on the theme of crime and punishment.

The early shortlisted plays include stories about the kidnapping of a successful business man, the unsettling unfolding of a TV reality show, a retelling of the role of the disciple Judas and an examination of the role of local vigilantes, plus a tale of sexual awakening with a pinch of bondage thrown in for good measure.

Over the last few years PTC's New Writing has continually proved to be a brilliant environment for developing work, and a fantastic arena for emerging talent.
