Electronic music. Serialism. Radios. Spatial music. Tapes. Music for every day of the week. Music for every hour of the day. These concepts just scratch the surface of 20th-century composer Karlheinz Stockhausen and the transformative influence he had on modern music.
In this study day complementing three weekends of Stockhausen music at Southbank Centre, we explore the composer's’ life and works with experts and with live music.
This study day complements performances of Stockhausen’s works on Tuesday 21 & Wednesday 22 May, Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 June, and Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 June.
