An Evening Of Songs By Leonard Cohen And Nick Cave
Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave – two of the greatest songwriters of our time – have found their way into people’s hearts through their deep and emotional lyrics. Warsaw-born artists, Olandra and Piotr Jaszczuk, will perform a concert in tribute to these legendary musicians.
The songs of Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave have achieved legendary status to their countless fans in Poland and tonight’s young artists have re-imagined a selection of these classics presenting them with new arrangements and interpretations. The evening will feature a collection of iconic classics such as Cohen’s “Suzanne” & “Hallelujah” and “Where the Wild Roses Grow” & “Henry Lee” by Cave, as well as a selection of lesser known but also very poignant pieces. The artists will perform the songs in English as well as translated versions in Polish.
The evening will be supported by Weronika Bielecka, who is no stranger to the Jazz Café POSK stage, accompanied by Oggy Why, and to augment this special evening they are going to perform a mini set of re-interpretations from Tom Waits classic catalogue.
Olandra
Ola's music is a counterproposal to what we usually hear on popular radio stations. It's not easily categorised, for it picks up on different genres…
