The Joy Of Sketch : Cardinal Burns, Jigsaw, Sheeps, The Pin, Thomas Nelstrop, Eleanor Thom
The glitzy sketch comedy extravaganza is back! Following a West End blow-out, two Udderbelly shows, a night at the Bloomsbury and a bunch of Edinburgh gigs, The Joy of Sketch comes to The Pleasance London. The finest sketch acts in the country come together for a one-off skit-heavy spectacular.
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
'Cardinal Burns' are Seb Cardinal and Dustin Demri-Burns who became really well established as a comedy duo at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival. They went on to perform at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2010 and have enjoyed sell-out shows at London's Soho Theatre.
They performed a limited run at the Pleasance, Edinburgh, in 2012 and aired the first series of their sketch show on E4 in Spring of the same year to great critical acclaim and a British Comedy Award.
'Funny premises are augmented by great little sub-gags and physical turns before being topped off with a strong punchline. Tremendous stuff' (The Scotsman).
Cardinal Burns tour dates
A comedy sketch group featuring Alastair Roberts, Daran Johnson and Liam Williams.
Sheeps tour dates
Winners at the inaugural London SketchFest for 'Best Sketch Show’, The Pin are a sketch act heavily tipped for future stardom by The Guardian. A couple of ex-Cambridge Footlighters, Alex Owen and Ben Ashenden create sharp and precise sketch comedy that tends to exceed expectations, giving them a reputation for 'nailing it'.
'The Pin are so good it might actually make you sick' (The Skinny)
'The precision was astounding. Faultless comic timing' (Three Weeks)
'The talented young double act who stole the show. This duo can go far' (The Daily Telegraph)
'A joy to watch. It's silly and whimsical, but ruthlessly comedic, such is the gag rate, and it's performed in a no-frills style that suggests they're super-confident in their writing' (http://www.Londonisfunny.com).
