Greg Foat Group

Following their third album, entitled "Live At The Playboy Club London", The Greg Foat Group is generating great interest across the UK and Europe with their splendid "psychedelic blend of non-contemporary jazz." They are still riding high on the success of their debut album, "Dark Is The Sun" (2011) released by the near legendary Jazzman Records. Critically acclaimed, "Dark Is The Sun" was rated one of the best jazz albums of 2011 in Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards and was described by Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2) as being "perfectly out of step with polished Modern Jazz." The Greg Foat Group's second album, Girl With Robot And Flowers, was released by Jazzman Records in 2012 and contained a superb collection of atmospheric Space Jazz tunes.

Greg Foat is a phenomenally gifted arranger, composer and pianist, who has united some of this country's most talented session musicians to form The Greg Foat Group - featuring Rob Mach (saxophone) and Trevor Walker (trumpet and flugelhorn); meanwhile double-bassist Phil Achille has recently been playing with Lionel Ritchie, while Greg Foat and drummer Tony Coote have worked together in sessions with musical heavyweights such as Questlove and The JB's.
Although the band has been informally jamming for aeons, today's style of The Greg Foat Group was conceived five years ago and has since collaborated with greatly respected artists such as award-winning jazz trumpet player Matthew Halsall and Primal Scream's Barry Cadogan.

The Greg Foat Group's eagerly anticipated fourth album, "The Door Into Summer" will be released in Spring 2015.
