The Facemelter

Chaos Theory presents a triple feature, with underground post-metal behemoth Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster launching their album and devastating prog metal band Opensight launching their EP, both hoisted up on the pillar of rock that is the mighty Sumer.

Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster (album launch):

A brilliant atmospheric post-metal band who've risen early in the UK's underground scene. Now back with the original lineup that won them their international audience, they launch their third album, three years after releasing the hugely acclaimed 'Exegesis'.

Their audiences span the edges of metal, prog and post-rock, which has led to them performing at this year's ArcTanGent Festival, as well as sharing the stage with bands as prolific and diverse as Pelican, Bo Ningen, Latitudes, Her Name Is Calla, Trojan Horse, Bast, Blueneck, Theory Of Machines, Alright The Captain, Lost In The Riots, Flies Are Spies From Hell, Eschar, Torpor and obe.

"...the group have pulled off the remarkable feat of creating something steeped in influence, yet devoid of pastiche." - Metal Hammer.

Opensight (EP launch):

An ambitious prog metal band, originally from Columbia. Guitarist and founding member Ivan David relocated to London some years back, reformed the band and played a very early Facemelter exactly three years ago. Since then they have gone on to become a favourite at Bloodstock's Metal2TheMasses, performing alongside Seethe, From The Ashes and Darkeye.

With a sound that fuses metal with the vintage, grainy feel of 70s prog, Opensight's launch of their new EP 'Ulterior Motives' will appeal to fans of all genres.

"...a genuinely unique, powerful, rock band." - SonicAbuse.

------------------

Sumer:

A self-styled post-prog band that has risen with seemingly unstoppable force, and with every reason, as anyone who attended the packed launch of their album 'The Animal You Are' last September will remember.

The riffs remain interesting while maintaining soaring vocal melodies and catchy hooks. The wide span of influences in this band has allowed for them to perform with bands like Amplifier, Mordecai, Mask Of Judas and The Fierce And The Dead and at this year's DesertFest.

"...a sonic structure of melodic distortion" - Prog.
