The Spill

'Join us as we present the fresh new work of a playwright. Forging the theatre of tomorrow, they will share their latest work in a rehearsed reading. Take the opportunity to feedback your thoughts that will shape their final draft, meet up­-and-­coming artists and get inspired to participate in future events.

The Spill is an evening of new writing, giving one playwright the opportunity to have their new play performed as a rehearsed reading in front of a live audience. Monday Club work with the successful playwright to source a director and a cast of actors for an intensive one day rehearsal period, culminating in a performance at the Old Red Lion Theatre on the same evening.

Our aim for The Spill is to spark collaboration amongst passionate writers, directors and actors through the development of their new work.
