Making Monsters

Geneva, 1816. Dared to write a terrifying ghost story, a young Mary Godwin delves into the secrets of surgery, science and life itself to come up with an original monster. On a mad artistic tour with her lover, her step-sister and new friend Lord Byron, she begins writing a ghost story that will 'curdle the blood and quicken the beatings of the heart'.

Following from a successful run at The Kings Head Theatre and The Edinburgh Fringe (Surgeons' Hall), The Golden Fire Theatre Company will entertain you in a show that has been described as 'inventive and inspired'.

Follow the group as they journey to Geneva in search of artistic freedom, where some of the most famous ideas in English Literature were born. Funny and chilling in equal measure, you will witness 50 minutes of artistic creation, discussion and debate. Mary begins to imagine horrorifying images and character; Mary begins to create her novel, Frankenstein.

Starring Matt Sheppard as Percy Shelley, Jen Painter as Claire Clairmont, Aizaac Sidhu as Lord George Gordon Byron and Becky Cooper as Mary.

Written and Directed by Becky Cooper. With Technical Support from Odette Barber-Shaw and John Pham.
