In 1976 the album ‘Wake Up Everybody ‘ was released and went on to sell over a million copies in the USA – its this album the band will be celebrating in 2026 – the album also includes “Don’t Leave Me This Way” (1976) — Reached #5 on the R&B chart, selling approximately 250,000 units and of course, in later years become a hit for Thelma Houston but probably better known in the UK, the number 1 selling hit for The Communards – staying at #1 for 4 weeks and becoming the biggest selling single of 1986.

Through decades of evolution, Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes® have continued to perform and captivate audiences worldwide with their signature blend of soulful harmonies and heartfelt emotion.

Today, the legacy lives on with Donnell “Big Daddy” Gillespie, the last living lead singer to perform with Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, alongside fellow members John Morris, Dave Echo, Tyrone Burwell, and Keith Matthews - keeping the timeless spirit of Philadelphia soul alive for new generations.

Special guests are Soulutions - consistantly championed as being the BEST British Modern Soul outfit. Based in the northeast, the band have released a number of tracks over the past 10 years that have had extensive play on UK soul radio. In the past the band have supported the likes of Shalamar, Kenny Thomas and Change amongst others

In 1972, the newly named Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes signed with the Philadelphia International label, under the leadership of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Their debut album on the label, I Miss You (1972), included the hit title track. Another song from the album, “If You Don’t Know Me by Now,” became a timeless classic — topping the U.S. R&B chart, reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and selling over one million copies. SouLutions

Soulutions are a modern soul band from the North East of England. The band was put together by Steve Lee and Louise Mehan in the early part of 2014 in order to show case their own material which they wrote over a seven year period. Heavily influenced by Philly and modern soul their first release was the successful track Listen which was re-mixed by the Drizabone Soul Family. Listen has been muted as the soul track of 2014 and has been acclaimed not only in this country but has also received rave reviews in Europe and in the States. Their first album 'Destiny' was released in 2016, this was followed by the singles 'I Got To Party' and 'Thankful' both of which went to number one in the Solar Radio Sweet Rhythms Chart and the UK Soul Chart, and both have been mixed by the legendary USA DJ John Morales (The M+M Thankful Mix is due out in the summer of 2018 on a special SouLutions mix album).
