Never miss another 'Lorde' show
Lorde is making a return to the UK to perform at O2 Academy Brixton on Friday 6th June, following a string of sold out and widely acclaimed sold out headline live across North and South America, a triumphant show at Coachella and a special performance at the induction of Nirvana to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame alongside Joan Jett, Kim Gordon, St. Vincent and others by personal invitation of the band.
Lorde is also set to release the next single from her album ‘Pure Heroine’. Already a quintessential highlight of the Lorde canon, 'Tennis Court' opens the platinum-selling debut album and encapsulates the combination of forward thinking pop and culture defining insight that have established Lorde as an international phenomenon and a new generation's most eloquent spokesperson.
This event takes place at O2 Academy Brixton, which has achieved Silver Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor is better known (and easier to pronounce!) as Lorde. Taking in influences from vocalist Grimes to the haunting sounds of Lana Del Rey, sprinkled with the alt-electro of James Blake, Lorde has somehow managed to find mainstream pop success whilst still keeping a dark and alternative edge. Her hypnotic debut single 'Royals' had massive worldwide success, reaching number one in the UK, US and her native New Zealand.
With a voice mature beyond her years, not only is she is the first ever New Zealand artist to have a US number one, but she is also the youngest artist to reach number one in the past 25 years (she was a mere 16 at the time, with Tiffany's 'I Think We're Alone Now' being the last time America saw such a young chart topper).
