Heavyweight soul purveyors Fat Freddy’s Drop return to London early next year to make some noise for two nights at O2 Academy, Brixton.

The New Zealand band reached new heights with a sold out Alexandra Palace show in late 2014 and is excited to perform again in London, this time with a brand new studio album.

“We’ve got half a terabyte of jamming and recording in the studio for a new album, and we’re looking forward to getting these songs onto the stage” Freddy’s beat master DJ Fitchie said.

The as yet untitled album is the follow up to critically acclaimed ‘Blackbird’ and comes as the genre defying band celebrate the tenth anniversary of ‘Based On A True Story’ studio album that claimed a stash of Kiwi awards and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Album Of The Year.

Fat Freddy’s Drop make annual pilgrimages to UK and Europe to headline festivals and top of the line venues and Brixton is one of the bands favourite London haunts with sold out shows there in 2006, 2011 and 2013. The Brixton shows will follow an extensive 22-city wide European tour this November/December and album releases tours down under across Australia and New Zealand.
