It’s the ‘2nd time around’ as soul legends Shalamar return to the iconic London Palladium in May 2020 with very special guest Phil Fearon & Galaxy!

It may have took the band 36 years to make their Palladium debut in May 2018 but due to the overwhelming response the band received to the appearance then Shalamar featuring original members Jeffrey Daniel, Howard Hewett along with Carolyn ‘Baby Girl ‘Griffey are extremely pleased and proud to announce they’ll return to the iconic London Palladium Theatre on Saturday 23rd May 2020 with a new show called ‘The Shalamar Songbook ‘

‘Fans can expect a show full of Shalamar Soul & Funk Classics with a journey through the hits and the best album tracks’ said lead singer Howard Hewett.

For Jeffrey Daniel, the man that taught Michael Jackson many of his dance moves the return to the Palladium cannot come soon enough. Jeffrey has performed over 500 shows with the band since 1979 but ask him for his favourite ever Shalamar show and he’ll reply in 3 words… ’The London Palladium’.

‘Everything about the day was perfect, the weather was great, the venue spectacular, the crowd was incredible, I mean the London Soul crowd has always supported Shalamar but to hear the audience singing along to classic 80’s dancefloor tunes even before we came on was just incredible - we could hear them backstage! The 90 minutes on stage just few by. After the show the reaction on social media was crazy, people posting videos not only of us but the crowd as well!"

The show will obviously include the bands classic hit singles such as ‘Take That to The Bank’ ‘I owe you one’ ‘Right in the socket’ Make That Move’ ‘Friends’ The 2nd Time Around’ ‘I can make you feel good’ and ‘A Night to Remember’ but also underground Soul classics that were big dancefloor favourites – especially in the London soul clubs around the late 70’s and early 80’s.

‘We’re coming back and we think we ‘Can make you feel good’ even more so on ‘The ‘2nd time around’ as we’re bringing along a very special guest with us to open the show. A man who had 5 Top 10 hits in the 80’s in his own right and will certainly, without doubt, have the Palladium ‘Dancing Tight and well in the mood for a Saturday night soul party! Phil Fearon and Galaxy broke through in the mid 80’s with the Top 5 hit ‘Dancing Tight’ – if you have a good memory you’ll recall Phil performing the song on Top of the Pop and doing backflips on the BBC stage!

Further hits include ‘What Will I Do’, ‘Girl I Can Prove It‘, ‘A Special Kind Of Love’ & 'Everybody's Laughing’.

London soul fans will also remember Phil as being one of the founding members of capital city soul band Kandidate who had a Top 10 hit in 1979 with ‘I don’t wanna loose you’.

As Shalamar, Howard Hewett and Jeffrey Daniel sold over 25 million records worldwide and collected no less than 100 gold, silver and platinum awards. They always whip the crowd into a frenzy with classics such as I Can Make You Feel Good, A Night To Remember, Friends, Make That Move, The Second Time Around, There It Is and I Owe You One. Completing the group is Carolyn Griffey (daughter of Shalamar founder Dick Griffey, the CEO of SOLAR records). The line up has been touring since 2001.
