When impoverished screenwriter Joe Gillis stmbles into the reclusive world of faded silent-screen goddess Norma Desmond, she see the the opportunity to make a comeback and rise to her former glory. And he is seduced by the actress and her luxurious lifestyle. But the entanglement between the pair will lead to dramtaic and tragic consequences.
This semi-staged production performed by ENO's acclaimed orchestra performing Andrew Lloyd Webber's enchanting and much-loved score (including the classic songs With One Look and The Perfect Year) will be one of the theatrical events of the year and not to be missed.
