David Constantine

The first in a series of Masterclasses at Poetry East in which an important poet of the present explores the poetry of a great exemplar of the past. We will spend the day exploring the letters and poetry of John Keats (1795-1821), with David Constantine, whose knowledge of Keats and feeling for his work is remarkable for its sympathy, rigour and intelligence. David Constantine has published ten books of poetry, five translations, a novel and four books of short stories including Tea at the Midland, which won the BBC National Short Story Award and the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award.
