Opera Double Bill - The Cure / The Corridor
The Cure/The Corridor is a double-bill of chamber operas by the contemporary composer Harrison Birtwistle, performed to mark his 80th birthday. This is the London premiere of The Cure, commissioned and co-produced by The Royal Opera, Aldeburgh Music and the London Sinfonietta. Its world premiere takes place at the Aldeburgh Festival on 12 June 2015.
The Corridor had its world premiere at Aldeburgh Festival on 12 June 2009 and
its London premiere the following month at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Both operas are collaborations between the British composer Harrison Birtwistle and poet David Harsent.
