JS Bach: The Art of Fugue
In The Art of Fugue, Bach has created a paradigm or model of how perfect fugues should be written. But far from being a dry academic exercise, it is an emotional odyssey and a work of extraordinary beauty. The fact that Bach died before completing the mighty triple fugue which was to finish The Art of Fugue has added to the extraordinary mythology that has grown up around this marvellous work.
Conductor and harpsichord virtuoso Steven Devine will introduce and perform this great masterpiece.
