Professor Semir Zeki, Professor Atsushi Iriki

Professor Semir Zeki, a pioneer of neuroaesthetics, will present and explain the ‘colour system’ illusion in collaboration with Noh performers, and Atsushi Iriki will examine evidence-based speculations in light of his recent research into how we acquired the concept of the ‘meta-self’ (a third-person sense of our own existence) in relation to riken-no-ken (a form of selfanalysis used by Noh performers), and the way in which we visualise illusions as realistic entities in Noh performances.
