Malija

This special concert launches the debut CD (Edition Records) by the newly formed Malija.

Highly respected and innovative bandleaders in their own right Malija brings together saxophonist Mark Lockheart, pianist Liam Noble and Jasper Hoiby on bass for a program featuring original material by all three members with diverse influences from bluegrass, tango to old-fashion jungle grooves.

It’s hard to describe Malija’s music but expect simple, complicated, free, tight, floaty, weird, beautiful and heartfelt depending on your mood.
