Haydn Cello Concerto No. 2
A cellist of exceptional versatility and integrity, Jean-Guihen Queyras is as well-loved for his performances of contemporary music as for those with period instrument ensembles. In this vivacious programme with Geneva Camerata he combines Haydn’s glorious second cello concerto with an uproarious fantasy inspired by Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. David Greilsammer will direct Boccherini’s devilish symphony and Bartók’s invigorating essay for string orchestra, the Divertimento.
