Out Of Doors
Out of Doors is an original suite composed by Bruno Heinen, synthesizing varied influences from the worlds of contemporary classical and improvised music. The primary inspiration for this work came from Bela Bartók’s composition 8 Improvisations Op.20 written in 1920, which was based on simple folk melodies. The suite is not a reworking, but rather an original composition.
As well as the Bartók, influences for the work include Duke Ellington, Alice Coltrane, Chick Corea, György Ligeti and Maurice Ravel. The title Out of Doors represents the synthesis of these varied influences in a work that defies specific categorization. This performance is part of a 16 date UK tour.
* This show was rescheduled from 5th June 2020.
