The Joy Of Influence: A Novelist On Film
Part of a series where the most celebrated English-speaking novelists come to King’s to talk about another great art form close to their hearts.
With front rank writers addressing their love not of literature but of other art forms, The Joy of Influence, produced in collaboration with King’s Cultural Institute, underlines the energetic approach of King’s College London’s English Department to fresh approaches in the literary arts.
English-Japanese novelist Kazuo Ishiguro rarely speaks at public events, but in May he will kick off the series. A lover of film, Ishiguro - whose novels The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go became award-winning films starring Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson and Keira Knightley - will talk about the particular genres he loves and discuss his favourite scenes.
