An old woman has knitted herself into her bed, pondering on memories and her moment to die, and the young woman who cares for her, longs for an elusive but out-of-reach romantic attachment. Both the characters’ stories revolve around a bed that has developed a surprising and powerful life of its own, bringing in new life and pulling theirs into its depths.
