Astronaut Meets Appleman Album Launch
Bridging the gap between Folk tradition and modern electronica, Kenny Anderson aka King Creosote presents an intimate performance of music from his new album, Astronaut Meets Appleman (out on Domino Recording Company on 2 September 2016).
Astronaut Meets Appleman follows King Creosote’s breakthrough record From Scotland With Love (2014) – which he presented live in the Barbican Hall in October 2015 – and his Mercury-nominated collaboration with Jon Hopkins, Diamond Mine (2011).
The new album blends acoustic instrumentation with digital soundscapes, exploring the tension and harmony between tradition and technology, invoking a feeling, King Creosote says, of “being caught between heaven and earth”.
While Anderson is usually used to headlining venues from Union Chapel to the Barbican Hall, this is an opportunity to see his new material performed at its most personal in the intimate surroundings of Hoxton Hall.
