Summer Showers

Critically acclaimed First Draft Theatre launch their residency at The Hope Theatre this August with Summer Showers; an evening of new short plays.

After the success of First Draft’s annual short play festival April Showers, previously produced at the Horse, Waterloo; First Draft bounces back this summer with some fresh new talent in their new home at The Hope.

First Draft has produced over 20 productions since 2010. Having received over 100 submissions from writers across the UK, First Draft and The Hope Theatre's team of readers will selected 4 short plays to be rehearsed over 3 days under the direction of Artistic Director Matthew Parker before presenting them in a quadruple bill over 3 nights.

The result is a diverse mixture of exciting, energetic and compelling pieces of fresh work and a glimpse into the genesis of a theatrical idea. The audience is an integral part of the process and First Draft look forward to welcoming you to The Hope Theatre for Summer Showers to enjoy and be a part of the journey for new writing.

Latecomers may not be admitted. Please arrive in good time for the start time of 7:45pm.

Under 18s are not permitted into the theatre for this performance.
