This is the Kit is the musical project of Kate Stables (from Winchester, England) who sings and plays banjo and guitar, sometimes solo and other times plays with a bunch of musicians - often with longtime collaborator Jesse D Vernon on violin and percussion. his Is The Kit have toured in the UK, Japan and Europe. They appear in many guises: solo, duo, psychedelic rock-formation, 4-4-2, unplugged acoustic gigs, choir workshops, homeshows, busking etc. If you thought you didn’t like the banjo, This Is The Kit will prove you wrong as Kate rips forward with a hypnotic twang pattern and a voice of rare beauty, accompanied by a backing band of minimal psychedelia. TITK has released two albums and a handful of singles since 2006.

Folked-up unique singer/songwriter with a green guitar! Rachael Dadd's music harks back to Joni Mitchell and similar folk songstresses of her era, with a sense of innovation in her heartwarming songs.
Semi-nomadic multi-instrumentalist Rachael Dadd defies categorisation, with her music incorporating influences from folk, Japanese Improv, and Minimalism. Her songs are as likely to feature banjo or clarinet as they are African field recordings or her unborn baby's heartbeat.

France's High Wolf melds fluorescent psychedelia, buzzing electronic loops and underwater new-age synths with the percussive backing of 2-3 half naked drum circles just peaking on acid. It's like he's gargle-blasted the same ecstatic sunshine that powers the likes of Animal Collective.

You've already heard Phildel's music, though you may not know it. Her music is a journey into the landscape of her imagination, at times beautifully enchanting, at others, raw and horrific. Her songs have been used on a wealth of TV adverts, from Marks & Spencers to Expedia, including a (particularly poignant) award-winning Persil ad and most recently Apple iPad. They have sound-tracked movies and are cited as an inspiration by Mariah Huehner, author of the True Blood and Angel comic books. They have been used in theatre productions and by celebrity fashion designer Henrietta Ludgate's live shows.

Ichi, from Nagoya in Japan, takes the notion of a one-man band to new limits - combining steel-drum with ping-pong balls, tape-loops with double bass and trumpet with bongos, all in the space of one short set.

Ex Theremin frontman, the Oxford-born Richard Walters makes acoustic, alt-folk with hints of pop, indie and rock. He has toured with the likes of Gemma Hayes and Dave Matthews and been produced by the legendary Bernard Butler. 'That someone can convey this much angst in such a beautiful way is truly amazing' - OHM

Abi Wade (cello.box.voice): a musical collaboration between limbs, strings and vocal chords. Her music is seamlessly sewn together, each beat, melody and bass line exactly in its place, to create songs that pull the heart strings and a performance that will beguile and intrigue. The cello, uniquely utilised, was the backbone to the four songs that comprise her 'And Blood And Air EP' – a set that strikes the listener with a singular blow, soft but undeniably affecting. Carved with a uniquely tailored blade, it is hard to liken her to any former artist, but similarities have been drawn to the independently distinct Arthur Russell, Joanna Newsom and Kate Bush. New single, the double A-side 'Heavy Heart' / 'Faker' is an incredible leap forward, revealing a beating pop heart beneath the inventive yet minimalist arrangements.
