On Monday 18th November, Google Pixel 4 and the Royal Observatory Greenwich (ROG) will hold a free astrophotography event as part of Google’s mission to bring people closer to the stars.
British Astronaut Tim Peake will join the event to talk to Londoners about his love of astrophotography and what it was like to capture the cosmos during his recent space mission.
ROG Astronomer Brendan Owens, will also be there to talk about the history of astrophotography before inviting Londoners to help create the first mobile sky map of the stars produced by the Royal Observatory Greenwich using a Google Pixel 4 smartphone. The sky map will be stitched together by ROG astronomers and will be made using images shot on Google Pixel 4 in Night Sight mode – an enhanced feature on Google Pixel 4 that can see into space and capture the Milky Way in just one tap.
