London based trio Glasshopper, is an exciting young group born out of a love for melody and improvisation. Led by its saxophonist Jonathan Chung, the group brings together the creative minds of guitarist James Kitchman and drummer Corrie Dick. Influenced by the free, jazz, rock and folk worlds; the band performs Jonathan’s emotionally sophisticated compositions with reverence and abandon, intricately weaving from moments of sonic bliss to euphoric rock outs. Ever with improvisation at the heart of the performance, Glasshopper is unified in it’s aim to reveal the story of each piece within the listeners imagination; each time with fresh twists.

Fergus Ireland is one of the most versatile and in demand bassists of his generation, a first call for both the traditional/straight ahead scenes (playing with artists such as: Alex Garnett, Jay Phelps, Kansas Smitty’s) and the contemporary scene (Ant Law, Nathaniel Facey, Heidi Vogel). His trio which features two of the most exciting and respected musicians in the UK, MOBO award winning saxophonist Nathaniel Facey and drummer Shaney Forbes, plays arrangements of tunes by composers such as: Billy Strayhorn, Frank Loesser, John Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, Cole Porter, as well as band originals influenced by the sax –led trios of Sonny Rollins, Joe Henderson, Branford Marsalis and Steve Lehman.
