A Victorian Christmas

A festive exploration of the Yuletide our ancestors would have known. The Victorians virtually invented the modern idea of Christmas with crackers, presents, cards and Christmas trees. We explore the origin of these traditions along with some rather more unsavoury customs that have thankfully died out! Presented by 'Blast from the Past' we invite you to enjoy festive song, a Yuletide Mummers' Play (forerunner of pantomime) and a Christmas tale of the court of King Arthur featuring damsels in distress, deeds of chivalry and an epic quest!
