Fashion Visionaries by Linda Watson

Focussing on some of the world’s most legendary designers, Linda Watson, author of ‘Fashion Visionaries’ by Laurence King Publishing, presents the story of fashion exploring the fascinating personal lives, character traits, and innovative collections that have shaped the industry over the past century. Featuring the key players including Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, Christian Dior and Coco Chanel, this talk outlines the impact these original thinkers have had on the way we dress. Arranged in a broadly chronological order, Linda Watson will discuss the development of fashion highlighting landmark moments and key dates in their careers.

Linda Watson graduated from Northumbria University with a double first in Fashion Design and Historical Studies. She has worked with three of the fashion visionaries featured in the book – Vivienne Westwood, Celia Birtwell and the late Jean Muir. A former fashion writer for British Vogue and contributor to The Independent, she is the author of Vogue Twentieth Century Fashion and Vogue on Vivienne Westwood. Linda is currently Reader in Fashion at Northumbria University.
