Drawing With Stitch

Using freehand machine stitching, participants will create a seaside themed embroidery taking inspiration from the Riviera Style: Resort & Swimwear since 1900 exhibition.

Following an introductory demonstration by designer and tutor Naomi Ryder, participants will learn free machining techniques to blend colour, vary line and create lace-like embroidery and machined applique. You will also be shown how to apply your design onto fabric to create a Riviera Style inspired embroidered image (A5-A4 size) to take home with you.

Participants will need to know how to use a sewing machine but no experience of embroidery necessary.
