One Man, Two Guvnors
In the pursuit of a pint and a sandwich, Francis Henshall unwittingly finds himself employed by two different 'Guvnors', Roscoe Crabbe, a local gangster and Stanley Stubbers, an upper class criminal. The two are mortal enemies, and just a week ago Stanley killed Roscoe, which is causing quite some confusion as Roscoe now appears to be back from the dead.
Determined not to let the two meet, Francis valiantly tries to keep his Guvnors apart whilst desperately trying to find something to eat and a beautiful girl to whisk off to Majorca!
One Man, Two Guvnors is based on the commedia dell'arte style comedy 'Servant of Two Masters' originally written in 1743.
Richard Bean's adaptation retains the storyline of the original but also injects the comedy of 60s Brighton, filled with colour, chaos and the discovery that pubs also do food. Blimey!
This amateur production of 'One Man Two Guvnors' is by special arrangement with Samuel French Ltd
