Big Bang #2
Camden People's Theatre's regular night of works-in-progress returns for two Come As You Are special editions, exploring the themes of the festival. This event will include the following performances:
18+
pink suits #1 by Lennie and Ray
pink suits #1 is the first performance in an ongoing collaboration between artists Lennie and Ray. It is a piece of dance/theatre/music activism aimed at questioning ideas around gender roles. Lennie is male, Ray is female. And together we are frustrated that our bodies are treated so differently.
Middle Aged Ambition by Tom Marshman and Rachael Miles
Follow the footsteps of Tom and his friend Rachael as she attempts to become the oldest female stuntwoman. The show aims to have the spectacle of a real live stunt performed by Rachael. The piece will be made for a studio theatre and will be a mix of storytelling, choreographic routines of everyday folly actions, juxtaposed with a dramatic stunt.
It’s a Gender by Oliver Harris
It’s a Gender explores the link between biological gender and that which we go on to become. From the moment of birth, we are born into a pre-existing heteronormative framework of gender. From this, both ourselves and society form expectations that may never be fulfilled.
SLAY by Shambles Theatre
Shambles Theatre present an unflinching look at what gender means to young people in 2017 though song, spoken word and a shit ton of glitter. Inspired by the vast gender spectrum and our own experiences, Lynne and Theo just want to come to the party. Please?
