Next Big Thing 2011: Rival Sons + The Virginmarys + The Fury
With high-profile support slots for the likes of AC/DC and Alice Cooper under their belts and iTunes' Rock Breakthrough Band of the Year 2011 award resting on what may one day become a groaning mantelpiece, LA quartet Rival Sons are big news in the rock world. Playing a brand of soulful hard rock dripping with the blues and swaggering to a good-time groove, they're arguably the best recent addition to the swelling ranks of '70s revivalist acts.
Rival Sons tour dates
From the darkest imaginations of three artists comes an explosive, hard hitting blues rock experience. The Virginmarys are brutally honest in their expression of mood with swirls of pyschedelia and passion for pure rock and roll.
The Virginmarys tour dates
After spending a year jamming AC/DC and blues covers together in pubs around the Midlands, Andy Masson (Vocals/Guitar), Alex Masson (Bass/Backing Vocals) and Mike McQuillan (Drums) all relocated to Guildford, Surrey to study at the prestigious Academy of Contemporary Music. It is here they met Steve Balkwill (Lead Guitar), and joined forces in March 2009 to create The Fury - a super-tight, locally renowned and heralded young hard-rock band.
