Vasilis Xenopoulos, Steve Fishwick, The Jason Lyon Trio

This week we are delighted to do a Double Guest Special introducing trumpeter Steve Fishwick and Tenor Saxophonist Vasilis Xenopoulos.

Steve Fishwick is widely considered to be one of the best jazz trumpet players ever to come from the UK, and is rapidly gaining a global reputation thanks to his flawless technique, and his beautifully flowing, harmonically rich improvisations. Greek born Vasilis a tremendous asset to the UK jazz scene with full rich tones, imperious techniques in his performances and skilfully crafted adaptations with infinite ideas in his compositions.

Every Monday night the Brasserie Toulouse Lautrec presents our long-running showcase for London’s brightest jazz talent.

Our house quartet features a guest soloist every week and warms things up from 9pm, the jam session starts in earnest at 10pm and we keep on swinging all the way through to 'round midnight'.

Sometimes it sounds like a miniature big band, sometimes it's a cool bossa group or a fiery blues and funk session. It’s friendly and informal, and you never know quite what you’re going to get. That’s jazz! And that’s why we enjoy hosting this session. Come down and join in the fun.
