Gareth Lockrane, The Jason Lyon Trio

The Jason Lyon Trio is delighted this week to welcome flautist Gareth Lockrane renowned for putting flute back into jazz. A well known figure in the jazz world he produced his latest album called The Strut which won Mojo Magazine’s Jazz Album of the Year 2012. He is also heavily involved in teaching in many major well known jazz colleges and universities.

Every Monday night the Brasserie Toulouse Lautrec presents our long-running showcase for London’s brightest jazz talent.

Our house quartet features a guest soloist every week and warms things up from 9pm, the jam session starts in earnest at 10pm and we keep on swinging all the way through to 'round midnight'.

Sometimes it sounds like a miniature big band, sometimes it's a cool bossa group or a fiery blues and funk session. It’s friendly and informal, and you never know quite what you’re going to get. That’s jazz! And that’s why we enjoy hosting this session. Come down and join in the fun.
