As lead guitarist for John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Texas bluesman Buddy Whittington followed an impressive line of gunslingers including Eric Clapton and Peter Green.
Now leading his own band, it's clear that Whittington's particular strain of Texas roadhouse blues owes far more to fellow Longhorn Stevie Ray Vaughan than to the music he played during his 15-year stint with Mayall. If you like gritty blues music that's as tight as it is loose, this show is not to be missed.
