Sound Unbound 2017 - Day 2

Sound Unbound, the Barbican Classical Weekender, returns for its second iteration. This ambitious weekend-long project, which involves all of the Barbican’s family of orchestras, gives audiences the chance to explore new sounds and rediscover familiar ones, from medieval to modern, in a relaxed festival environment, performed by artists for whom the boundaries between classical music and contemporary, experimental and pop music have been blurred – or simply don’t exist.

With sixty sessions over one weekend, showcasing the infinite variety of classical pieces, this is the perfect festival for lovers of live music. From innovative new commissions with the likes of Chilly Gonzales and Anna Meredith to some of the finest classical scores ever written, and performances from today’s leading performers like Iestyn Davies and the LSO to BBC Young Musician 2016 Sheku Kanneh-Mason. Whatever your thing, you’ll find it at Sound Unbound.
