In Recital
Few mezzo-sopranos are more vibrant than Kozena; and few pianists can find the mystery in a romantic miniature quite like Bronfman. Pair the two for an evening of utterly magnetic music-making.
Don’t just take our word for it though: the New York Times found their interpretations of these Mussorgsky and Bartók songs 'sensitive and unsettling'. Both these artists have a way of letting their own personalities amplify and elucidate the composer’s vision, so expect a very distinctive angle on Brahms’s lieder – as well as drama, playfulness and pitch-black humour as they explore the miniature worlds of Shostakovich’s Satires.
