Icebreaker

12-piece contemporary music group Icebreaker make a welcome return to the Barbican’s music programming after 10 years in a special evening of music and film. The programme includes the group’s Kraftwerk Uncovered project – a work created by Brian Eno collaborator, German sound-scape artist J. Peter Schwalm (who will also perform in it alongside Icebreaker), based on material from a range of Kraftwerk tracks.

Kraftwerk Uncovered will be accompanied by a specially made film by Sophie Clements and Toby Cornish, which was filmed almost entirely in the Ruhrgebiet in Germany – the area Kraftwerk are from – making direct reference to their heritage.
