The radiance of Danielle de Niese’s voice is matched only by her charisma; this colourful recital reveals her full, kaleidoscopic range.

De Niese is a singer with a huge personality, and her natural dramatic flair makes every one of her operatic appearances an occasion. But this is something different: a chamber recital featuring both Grieg’s tender song-cycle Haugtussa and Berlioz’s flamboyant Cléopâtre.

It’s a wonderfully varied programme, and de Niese is joined at the piano by the remarkable young Israeli conductor and pianist Omer Meir Wellber. He’ll bring out all the colour of this picturesque music; de Niese’s silvery voice should do the rest, whether in Grieg’s luminous miniatures or the no-holds-barred passion of Berlioz’s showstopping solo cantata.

Programme to include:
Grieg - Haugtussa
Berlioz - La Mort de Cléopâtre

Danielle de Niese - soprano
Omer Meir Wellber - piano
