Wallace And Gromit's Musical Marvels: Aurora Orchestra, Nicholas Collon, Thomas Gould
Please note, this is a concert experience suitable for ages 5 and up.
Stock up on crackers (cheese or Christmas) and book your tickets for a fantastic festive treat for all the family.
In this new Wallace and Gromit adventure with live orchestra, everyone's favourite hapless inventor and his faithful dog turn their hands (and paws) to the music business. Wallace is beaming with pride, having been commissioned to create a brand new piece of music. So with Gromit at his side, Wallace is preparing for the premiere of his musical masterpiece, 'My Concerto in Ee, Lad.' The orchestra and soloist are tuning up: what could possibly go wrong?
Musical Marvels features some cracking new animation of the dynamic duo's backstage moments, and is a great way for children to discover the thrill of hearing a live orchestra. Charismatic conductor Nicholas Collon and the brilliant and energetic Aurora Orchestra will introduce you to classical favourites by Mozart, Debussy, and Stravinsky.
In part 2 of the show, sit back and enjoy the multi award-winning A Matter of Loaf and Death on the big screen with Julian Nott's original orchestral score performed live by Aurora Orchestra.

This event takes place at Barbican Centre, which has achieved Silver Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Aurora Orchestra aims to inspire, challenge and astonish new audiences with great music, brilliantly performed. It seeks to be the UK's most versatile orchestra, combining world-class performance with eclectic and innovative programming, a commitment to adventurous collaboration across perceived frontiers of musical genre and artistic form, and a refusal to be bound by convention.
'In a city suffocating with musical activity, Nicholas Collon's Aurora Orchestra lets in more fresh air than most. The aim is to make an audience hear anew, not by sugaring any pills, not by didactic explanation, not by light-shows, but by context' (The Times)
'It is hard to imagine performances more assured and expressive than these by Nicholas Collon and the Aurora Orchestra' (BBC Music Magazine).
