How To Forgive A Terrorist
On 12 October 1984 the IRA bombed the Grand Hotel in Brighton, trying to kill Margaret Thatcher. Five were killed and thirty one others were injured.
Harvey Thomas CBE, the government’s Director of Press and Communications, was in the room directly above the bomb. The explosion blew him up through the roof, and then down three storeys under tons of debris.
Extraordinarily, he survived.
Even more extraordinarily, he has since extended forgiveness to the bomber, becoming friends with the man who tried to kill him.
Over dinner at Balham Bowls Club, join us to hear Harvey tell his story in person, and to ask him about the Christian faith that motivated him.
