The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time

**On December 19th there was an accident at the Apollo Theatre where The Curious Incident of the Dog & the Night-time is showing. Part of the ceiling collapsed and fell into the audience, damaging part of the balcony. Around 90 people were injured, fortunately there were no fatalities and none of the injuries are life threatening.

Performances due to take place up to January 4th have been cancelled.**

Christopher, fifteen years old, stands beside Mrs Shears' dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington.

He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at maths while illequipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

The National Theatre’s highly acclaimed production based on Mark Haddon’s award-winning novel, adapted by Simon Stephens and directed by Marianne Elliott is now at the Apollo.

The production was acclaimed by critics and audiences alike during its sell-out run in the Cottesloe Theatre and set a new record with its NT Live broadcast to worldwide cinemas, seen by over 40,000 people in the UK alone.
