A welcome return of the London Mozart Players who have become a regular feature at the Arts Festival.
Over the years the orchestra has premiered several works by the Festival Director, Geoffrey Hanson and tonight’s concert will include two of his works. The Clarinet Concerto played by the young prize winning Australian soloist Som Howie and the Odyssey performed by Sebastian Comberti, principal cellist of the London Mozart Players.
Mark the 60th anniversary of the death of the quintessentially English composer, Gerald Finzi, with a performance of his Romance in E flat for Orchestra and two of his part songs set off by Elgar and Stanford. This is a concert for lovers of English Music.
