A reduced version of the opera by Engelbert Humperdinck in a semi-staged production.

Directed by Kathryn Harries, NOS Director, and Debbie Lammin, Director of the Burntwood School Chamber Choir.

Humperdinck’s brilliant opera is based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm and was first performed in 1893. It has been a great success ever since.

The principal singers and the pianist will be artists who have been trained at the NOS – either on the main training programme or on the Singers of Tomorrow programme.

The Chamber Choir of Burntwood School has sung in every major concert hall in London, working with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. They have represented England at the International Eistedfodd in Llangollen and also travelled abroad.
