Ronnie Scott's Presents...
In 1959, saxophonist Ronnie Scott opened the door to a small basement club in London's west end where local musicians could jam.
Today, Ronnie Scott's is one of the world's most famous jazz clubs attracting full to bursting audiences practically every night. Since the early days of Sarah Vaughn, Count Basie and Miles Davis, the club continues to present the biggest names in jazz and will be presenting the best that the current Jazz scene has to offer at the historic Alexandra Palace Theatre.
Acclaimed saxophonist Courtney Pine CBE headlines on Thursday 6th December: rising to prominence in the 1980s as one of the principal founders of band The Jazz Warriors, Pine’s career has spanned over 30 years and he has been awarded numerous BBC Jazz Awards, two MOBO Awards as well as an OBE in 2000 and a CBE in 2009 for services to jazz music. A leading light of the UK jazz scene whose music continues to be highly influential, this is a show not to be missed.
