Edinburgh Previews

Peter Brush: Present. Tense.

Awkward jokesmith Peter Brush returns to the fringe with his hot takes on meditation, sexist babies, robot wives, and why he’ll be donating his eyeballs to criminals after he dies.

‘compellingly hilarious.. first-class gag writing… an original and achingly funny voice’ ****1/2 – Chortle
'An hour of killer gags with no let-up in quality' – Fest

Emma Shaw: Help

Emma Shaw needs help. Emma chats about life, death, growing old and also there's a bit about running up the stairs on your hands and knees like a dog (remember?!). Emma has appeared on BBC Three and was Funny Women One to Watch 2015.

Northern Power Blouse: Touching Cloth

Three feisty northerners present their debut sketch hour packed with big characters, silly songs and highly flammable polyester. They've written sketches for Comedy Central, Comic Relief, BBC Three and Radio 4 and have been finalists for BAFTA Rocliffe, the BBC Caroline Aherne Funny Northern Women Bursary and Musical Comedy Awards 2018. Semi-finalists for Leicester Square Sketch Off 2019. Join the gang as they explore their ridiculous worries, from smear tests to dating apps to mindfulness. 'Charmingly foolish' (Chortle.co.uk). 'Larger than life' (FunnyWomen.com). 'Their talents are obvious' (List).

Peter Brush appearing at this event

Peter Brush is a highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes. He unassumingly takes the stage with his slight bespectacled frame and scruffy hair, before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines, all delivered in an amusingly awkward fashion. A BBC New Comedy Award Finalist 2013 & Harrogate Comedian of the Year 2012, he has also written for BBC Radio 4's 'The News Quiz'. 'An imaginative use of language and obtuse angles of thought that produce distinctive and eclectic gags... his best lines are inspired' (Chortle). “Unique observations and connections that stand-ups crave” (The Guardian).
