Electronic Music - Meet The Computers / Composers

Join researchers from across Europe to hear for yourself how computers can learn to compose music.

This is the first concert ever performed in which all of the music played (except for a few items to compare) has been written by a computer, and, more importantly, a computer which has learned by itself to do so, rather than being told by a human.

You will go on a journey through the history of music, starting with the Renaissance and then moving through Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, ending with 20th Century modernism, and modern folk and pop — all of it written by computers that have learned to create.

After the concert, in the aftershow, the Mark d’Inverno quintet will lead on a more informal exploration of jazz, including classics and new work composed by humans and computers.
