Dorothy

Dorothy is a new opera by Ely composer James Cook.

The three-act opera tells the story of the saint, who brings back a basket of fruit and flowers from heaven's garden.

The work is truly a labour of love and devotion, having been thirty years in the writing. It is imbued with spirituality. The opera lasts 90 minutes and is available in a range of accompaniments arrangements, from paino solo to full symphony orchestra. A sign of James Cook’s style lies in the dedication of the work to the memory of Richard Wagner.
