Step into experimental producer Holly Herndon’s vision of a digital future, as she curates an evening of experimental electronic music, including an expanded performance of her own immersive live show.

Tapping into the laptop’s full potential as an instrument, Herndon’s industrial rhythms and skittering synths would sound cold and alien were it not for her fascination with using organic sounds.

Manipulating her own ethereal vocals, series of murmurs, clicks and gasps, into swirling electronics, warped samples build into throbbing dance music before breaking up into ambience or noise. Glitching visuals provided by artist Mat Dryhurst interact not just with the music, but the audience too, turning you into part of the performance.

Joining Herndon on the line-up are two producers who, while sounding totally different from each other, share her interest in experimentation and exploring technology as a force that affects almost every aspect of our lives.

Though he may have made his name making dense electronica, Jack Latham aka Jam City’s new live show sees him step out from behind the laptop, donning a guitar and microphone to create music that sounds almost like a Prince record constructed from cold, chunky industrial sounds.

Where Jam City’s deconstructed pop music plays with your perceptions, Claire Tolan’s soundscapes influence your brain in a much more direct way – using slow, soft sounds to stimulate Auto-Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR), a distinct tingling sensation you feel throughout your whole body.

Her live show turns samples of everyday sounds, subtle whispers and white noise into quiet, shifting, strangely beautiful music that makes you re-examine how you listen to the world around you.
